Privacy policy

Go First is made by David Slee, in Australia. This policy explains what happens to the information you put into the Go First app.
The short version. Everything you record in Go First stays on your phone. There’s no account, and nothing you enter is sent to us or to anyone else.
What the app stores
Go First keeps the following on your phone so it can work:
- the challenges you’re offered and the ones you choose
- your ratings of how hard a challenge would be, how hard it was, and how worthwhile it was
- any notes you write, and your plans for when and where
- the habits in your stack and each time you record one
- your weekly checkpoints, pillar levels and settings
This information is stored in the app’s own storage on your device. We can’t see it.
What we don’t collect
Go First doesn’t collect or send any personal information. It has no analytics, advertising or tracking, and doesn’t use third-party services that do. The app doesn’t send what you record anywhere.
Backups
If you use iCloud Backup or back up your phone to a computer, the app’s data is included in that backup, as it is for most apps. Those backups are handled by Apple, or by you, under their own terms.
Reminders
Reminders are scheduled on your phone by the app itself. They don’t pass through any server. Their wording doesn’t mention the challenge, since reminders can appear on the Lock Screen. You can turn them off in the app’s Settings or in your phone’s Settings.
Exporting and deleting your data
You can export your history from You › Settings › Your data. The file goes wherever you choose to send it through the share sheet, and what happens to it after that depends on where you send it.
You can delete everything from the same screen. Deleting the app also removes its data from your phone.
If you contact us
If you email us, we’ll have your email address and whatever you write. We use it to reply, and don’t add it to any list or pass it on.
This website
These pages are hosted by GitHub Pages. GitHub may record technical details such as your IP address when you visit, as most web hosts do. The pages themselves don’t use cookies or analytics.
Children
Go First isn’t intended for anyone under 16.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with a new date. If the app ever starts collecting information, this policy will say so before that happens.
